Synopsis
The Swan sanctuary is a 15 minute long documentary that deals with the plight of the UK water bird population. In the documentary we learn about the Swan Sanctuary a UK based Charity that works 24/7 to help as many animals that are in danger as it can. The Sanctuary has been in operation since the 1980s and is over seen by Dot Beeson. The documentary focuses on the sanctuary and the new facilities since its recent move to its new location just outside of Shepperton in Middlesex, and the continuing and varying work they carry out there.

The Filming Process
The first time I visited the sanctuary I was blown away by the scale of it. The amount of work they do on a daily basis to take care of 300+ birds is staggering. The first thing I learned while visiting the sanctuary was don’t go into the parrot house, as I now have one bird poo covered shirt to prove it.
The first time I had a flock of swans taking off and fly over my head is something I don’t think I’ll ever forget they were just so beautiful in the air, thankfully the camera was turned on at this point in time so we got a wonderful series of images.
