== Interactivity - engaging your audience ==
In a Multimedia world how can the programme maker be creative and get their messages across effectively – to grab the minds of the audience by popular delivery methods and also by means that are most suitable for those with a deeper interest. 360 degree commissioning was a fashion which has become more mainstream – but what are the current and future challenges of  making the audience really engage and interact in world of the multi channel TV, Twitter, websites and iPlayer.

John Denton Managing Editor TV platforms BBC Future Media and Technology
John began his career working in video Post-Production, which in turn led onto Production work on many types of TV programmes. He has worked in the television industry for over 19 years both here, in the UK, and Australia.
In February 2006, John joined the BBC and in August 2007, John was promoted to the new role of Managing Editor, TV Platforms, responsible for developing the strategy for delivering the BBC’s interactive television services across all broadcast platforms.
John also represents the BBC on the Skillset Interactive Media board, is involved in Future Media & Technology innovation work and manages relationships with independents developing content for interactive TV.
Matt Millington, BBC Sport Video Portals Editor.
Matt started his BBC career tapping in cricket scores on a trusty BBC Micro for Ceefax Sport in 1990. After moving through the ranks to the Sports Editor post, he was involved in the early days of the BBC Sport website before joining New Media's Interactive TV team in 2001, in time for the first multi-streaming of Wimbledon. Having seen content grow from two events per year to a 24/7 service, Matt now oversees all multiplatform AV content for BBC Sport.

Peter Weitzel, Principal Technology Manager Siemens IT Solutions and Services.
Peter is a leading strategist and broadcast technologist with over 35 years of very varied experience behind him. With a very strong “Projects” background he has set international standards in Teletext, DVB Subtitles and Audio Description, worked on Programme Business and Technology strategy and its implementation with Radio and TV broadcasters across the world, and more recently was the Technical Director of the UK contribution to the Award winning NHK demonstration of Super HiVision at IBC 2008. He wrote the chapter on Interactive TV in the Broadcast Engineers handbook. He is a past Hon Secretary of RTS London.
